If like me you got stuck trying to swing and break free from the hook please read this.
No matter how fast or slow I waggled the stick left and right Lara would not get any momentum.I even tried changing my sensitivity and a different pad!
After 25 minutes of pain and wanting to give up I restarted my check point. To my surprise a simple left to right waggle (2 or 3 times) got Lara swinging.
After escaping I was annoyed I had to do that as up until that point I had loved every minute of the game.
One odd thing that I did notice was that after the checkpoint restart I actually didn’t have that annoying LS stick moving from left to right telling me what to do.

THANK YOU! i hate resorting too walkthroughs, i watched a video and saw it got done so easy and was like what the hell man. Really appreciate the info. i would have just shut the game off and tried again tomorrow but im back in action!

im stuck there too,im play tomb raider on pc i can swing but how much i swing nothing happens, i even reloaded the check point too.. 😦 plz help
I have to admit your the first person to say it hasn’t worked. Have you tried using the arrow keys instead of AWSD. I have heard that can help on a PC.
yep i even did with the arrow keys.. i even reinstalled tomb raider again.. n played til here.. no difference :(((

i googled this … i found a a few people too have the same problem for pc.. hopefully a fix will come soon ..fingers-crossed
Wow, that is really harsh. I guess you started a new save as well, after the reinstall. a lot of people seemed to have hit this issue, surely it must have been seen during play testing..
Hope they do patch it for you as bug aside its an ace game.

I am having the same problem on the PS3. This game was great up until this point. I am SO frustrated. I’ve restarted the check point multiple times but it still doesn’t work. Argh!!!
OMG !!! after weeks and weeks of trying!!! and reintalling and playing till this point for a third fucking time!!! i got pass the QTE!!!! thank god!!

I found the answer. Its like waggleing but you swing one direction (left or right) then let her swing back, then the same one ya used till she’s in full swing and reaches for the beam. Not left then right just left, let her swing back, left then let her swing back. I had to kick myself cause it was so darned easy. I hope this helps. May be the same for PC’s too.

Hi.. i had the same problem on my Pc.. i know how u guys feel..
for those who play it pc.. reduce the resolution to the smallest possible, for this QTE or any other, once its over, change it back to the normal one… hope it helps!!!

The one button thing worked for me too!! I’ve been at this for practically an hour. Just be really patient! Make sure you time it correctly. When she’s furthest right on the screen, press the left swing arrow (<) on the keyboard. Don't get discouraged. It might take 2 minutes or so. Thanks for the tips everyone!
